The Western English Setter Club (WESC) is one of 22 regional specialty clubs nationwide, all of which are dedicated to the responsible breeding and ownership of English Setters. All of these regional clubs are members of the English Setter Association of America.
The WESC boasts over 50 active members, located primarily in the Midwest. However, membership is not limited by residence and we have active members across the country.
Originally founded as the Western Pointer and Setter Club in the early 1900’s, club membership included owners, breeders and fanciers of numerous hunting and sporting dog breeds, including English Setters. In or around 1950, the club spilt into several breed specific clubs and the Western English Setter Club was formed.
Today, the WESC remains one of the oldest, continuously operating specialty clubs in the country. We hold monthly membership meetings, a National Specialty show, fun matches and “Meet the Breed” events.
